How to Use the Graft

Storage Conditions on Receiving

Confirm Labeling

Upon receiving, confirm labeling details including batch number, expiry date, and graft type

Transfer to OT Freezer

Immediately transfer the graft to the Operation Theatre (OT) freezer

Maintain Storage

Maintain storage until the time of surgical use

Extended Storage

Storage period can be extended with the availability of -80°C freezer

Thawing / Rehydration Protocol

  • Remove from freezer only at the time of surgery
  • Wash the graft thoroughly with sterile saline solution
  • Treat with suitable antibiotic solution as per institutional protocol
Thawing Protocol

Precautions

Do not use if the packaging is damaged
Do not use beyond expiry date
Maintain strict aseptic technique during handling

Disposal Protocol

Discard unused graft material as biomedical waste as per institutional guidelines and regulatory requirements.
